Mordecai serves as a Professional Aide for Undergraduate Research in the Provost’s Office at Michigan State University. His background is STEM research, having earned a Ph.D. in Human Nutrition, Foods and Exercise from Virginia Tech. His time as a graduate researcher inspired him to pursue a career supporting undergraduate students as they pursue and navigate research experiences. His interests include understanding and tackling barriers to co-curricular activities, self-efficacy, and mentor-mentee relationships. Mordecai is drawn to the work of supporting students because he enjoys building relationships with them and has genuine curiosity for their stories.
