NEW COURSE for SPRING 2019

Communicating Science through Art: Wildlife Sanctuary

FW 491 sec 003 (3 credits) - T/R 10:20-11:40

Take a walk in the woods and get inspired by nature. Students in this experiential, interdisciplinary course will explore the use of art as a way to communicate science, with a focus on bird conservation and wildlife sanctuaries. As part of the course, students will design art for the Rachana Rajendra Neotropical Migrant Bird Sanctuary on MSU’s campus. Topics covered in the course include science communication, wildlife conservation, protected areas management, and human-nature interactions. No art background is required; students from all backgrounds will apply their skills to raise awareness about the value of wildlife sanctuaries.
