Corey Marsh Ecological Research Center (CMERC) Summer Undergraduate Research Program
Undergraduate education and research training are central to the mission of Corey Marsh Ecological Research Center (CMERC). The CMERC Summer Undergraduate Research Program offers students conducting independent research at CMERC opportunities for professional development, networking, and collaboration in a cohort setting. Students may apply to work on an ongoing research project at CMERC and/or propose new research. Funding for these projects and faculty mentorship varies.
This year's program will run from May 12 - Aug 1, 2025. These are PAID undergraduate research positions based at CMERC: students typically earn $15/hour for 20-40 hours per week. Housing and transportation are not provided. Certain projects may require planning or fieldwork activities before or after the program dates - these details will be communicated by individual mentors during the interview and selection process.
Undergraduate students enrolled for fall 2025 (min 6 credits) at Michigan State University are eligible to apply for this program. Students from any major may apply. Early applications are encouraged and may increase your chance of placement in a project. If selected, you will be hired as a student employee of MSU under the supervision of your primary mentor.
Application deadline: Friday, February 21, 2025
