Mid-SURE 2025
STEM Teaching & Learning Facility and OnlineStudents: Save a presentation slot during Priority Registration! Category and modality choices are limited after Priority Registration closes. Late Registration begins Thursday, June 19.
Abstracts/Proposals do not need to be complete at the time of registration. Final edits to MidSURE registrations are due Thursday, July 10 at 11:59 PM.
Visitors, mentors, family, and friends are welcome to attend the forum, and registration is not required.
Eligible Presenters:
- Current MSU undergraduates
- MSU December 2024 and May 2025 graduates
- Visiting undergraduate students participating in summer research programs
- Undergraduate researchers from other Michigan institutions
- High School students participating in MSU sponsored research programs
Types of research and creative activity accepted:
- Preliminary
- In Progress
- Completed Projects
- Course-based Research
- Internship/REU
- Education Abroad
- Community-based Participatory Research
- Work conducted during any semester (fall, spring, summer) or over multiple semesters
- Presented at other venues (college/department forums, off-campus conferences, etc.)
- Any stage of the research process (literature review, method development, etc.)
- Other types that we missed on this list!

UURAF 2025
Breslin Center and Online
The 27th UURAF was held onsite at the Breslin Center and online at Symposium. Over 1,100 students from 14 colleges participated in the event. They were mentored by over 700 faculty, staff, post-doctoral fellows, graduate students, and government/industry partners. There were over 900 presentations in 33 different subject areas.

STEM Teaching & Learning Facility and Online
The 14th annual Mid-Michigan Symposium for Undergraduate Research Experiences (Mid-SURE) brought together undergraduate students from diverse academic disciplines to share their research and creative activities with the university community. Over 350 undergraduate students from over 100 different institutions participated in Mid-SURE 2024. These students were mentored by more than 300 faculty, staff, post-doctoral fellows, graduate students, and government or industry researchers. Virtual FormatThe 23rd UURAF was an asynchronous, virtual event hosted on Symposium by ForagerOne from April 15 - 19, 2021.

The 10th annual Mid-Michigan Symposium for Undergraduate Research Experiences (Mid-SURE) was held virtually on August 4th - 10th. It brought together undergraduate students from diverse academic disciplines to share their research and creative activities with the university community. Over 250 undergraduate students from 30 different institutions participated in Mid-SURE 2020. These students were mentored by more than 250 faculty, staff, graduate students, and government or industry researchers.

MSU UnionThe 22nd annual event was canceled due to the coronavirus outbreak. Please view the UURAF program booklet to learn about the outstanding research and creative endeavors by nearly 1,000 undergraduate students who registered to present at the forum. These students represent 14 different colleges and were mentored by more than 700 facutly, staff, and graduate students.
