2025 Mid-Michigan Symposium for Undergraduate Research Experiences (MidSURE)
The 15th annual MidSURE will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at the STEM Teaching and Learning Facility and online at Symposium by ForagerOne. MidSURE 2025 will be a hybrid event with both in-person and online poster presentations. The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided.

MidSURE provides an opportunity for students involved in research and creative activities at Michigan State and other institutions to share their work with their peers and the MSU community.

Mid-SURE 2025
The 2025 Mid-Michigan Symposium for Undergraduate Research Experiences will be held on July 23 at the STEM Teaching & Learning Facility and Online
You will be prompted to enter your MSU Net ID. Registration closes June 18, 11:59 PM
Save a presentation slot during Priority Registration! Category and modality choices are limited after Priority Registration closes. Late Registration begins Thursday, June 19.
- MSU Students: use the "MSU NetID Login"
- Visiting and External Students: use the "Other Login". First, create a user account with the email from your home institution
Abstracts/Proposals do not need to be complete at the time of registration. Final edits to MidSURE registrations are due Tuesday, July 8 at 11:59 PM. Edit deadline for mentors is Thursday, July 10.
Visitors, mentors, family, and friends are welcome to attend the forum, and registration is not required
Eligible Presenters:
- Current MSU undergraduates
- MSU December 2024 and May 2025 graduates
- Visiting undergraduate students participating in summer research programs
- Undergraduate researchers from other Michigan institutions
- High School students participating in MSU sponsored research programs
Types of research and creative activity accepted:
- Preliminary
- In Progress
- Completed Projects
- Course-based Research
- Internship/REU
- Education Abroad
- Community-based Participatory Research
- Work conducted during any semester (fall, spring, summer) or over multiple semesters
- Presented at other venues (college/department forums, off-campus conferences, etc.)
- Any stage of the research process (literature review, method development, etc.)
- Other types that we missed on this list!

What to Expect at MidSURE
There is a great deal of activity happening throughout the event. An information desk is located on the first floor, north tower and is a good resource for answering questions during the in-person event. If you have technical issues related to the online event site, please use the chat box. For online presentation related questions, contact the Undergraduate Research Office.

Tranquility Room
A tranquility room will be available at any time during MidSURE for attendees to pray, meditate, or find a quiet place away from the flurry of activity during the event.
